Opposition leaders on Thursday rubbished off President Uhuru Kenyatta's statement that ODM leader Raila Odinga fanned the 2007/08 post election violence.

The leaders said that President Kenyatta was only reminding the people from the abagusii community of the losses they underwent during the post election violence.

Led by Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire,  Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka and South Mugirango MP Manson Nyamweya instead challenged President Kenyatta to compensate all the internally displaced persons.

Mr Bosire who is also the ODM treasurer in the country asked President Kenyatta to instead ensure that internally displaced persons are compensated.

"IDPs  from Gusii region have never been compensates and yesterday the President raised the matter again,  which was in order and uncalled for, " said Mr Bosire.

He asked the president to investigate how much people from the abagusii community suffered during the violence.

Mr Onyonka also asked President Kenyatta to fulfill the promise of compensating idps.

"Idps from other region especially in Jubilee strongholds have been compensated but those in Kisii are yet to be compensated.  The Government should sort that matter for once and for all, " said Mr Onyonka.

On his take Mr Nyamweya said that the statement was so shameful and the president should withdraw it.
