Kitui Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu has called upon leaders from Ukambani backing President Uhuru Kenyatta in the forthcoming fresh election to reconsider their move.
This is after former Kitui Senator David Musila and other leaders from the region vowed to rally the electorate behind President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto when that time comes.
Ngilu, a former lands minister, said that they leaders risk ending up in political oblivion if they do not reconsider their political steps ahead of the rerun between Uhuru and Raila.
“Let Musila come back to the National Super Alliance (NASA) where he truly belongs,” she said as quoted by Kenyans.co.ke
She added: As Ukambani Leaders we need to back the re-election of our presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka who we believe are in a position to address the problems of our people.”
According to Musila, Kambas cannot afford to be in the opposition.
“We cannot afford to be outside the government for another five years, so the logical thing to do is to support the winning team and be assured of development,” Mr Musila said in Kitui.
