The manner in which Hollywood Star Lupita Nyong’o travelled to the Lake side region and maintained a low profile, has disappointed a majority of the people in the city.
The actress is a darling of Kisumu people, and the manner in which she hid from the public eye disappointed the locals.
Reports in the Standard indicate that the actress was in the county together with a group of investors to examine possibilities of setting up a performing arts centre in the region.

“I only heard that Lupita was here. We never had the chance to see her. The all process was made a secret. I am very disappointed,” noted Silas Omullo.
“We don’t really understand the reason for all the secrecy involving our daughter. Even if she would address us in Kisumu Sports Grounds we would feel so humbled. This is very wrong, and Lupita should know that she has disappointed her very own fans,” said Millicent Obiero.
“The actress should issue an apology for her fans here at home. We always wish her well, and pray for her but how comes that when she is here she does not want to see us?” posed Benard Ogolla.
“I think the little princess is now being misled. Fame becomes poison if misused. You should never dismiss your own people no matter how far or big you are. I am sure someone would even get healed had Lupita just stood at her car and waved at the people,” noted Felix Ochieng.
“Lupita should make it up to us. There is no way she will be in the county and fail to see her very own people who promoted her career,” said Patrick Midiwo.
