Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo has said he still has a lot of faith in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party and its leader Raila Odinga.

The Siaya county governorship hopeful insists it was the bungled ODM nominations, in Siaya, that disgruntled him and urged the party to let the will of the people prevail in the future.

"ODM stands for the principles that i also believe in and  the only problem was with how the nominations in Siaya were conducted," the MP said on Citizen TV's Cheche show, Wednesday.

The legislator also said he was ready to throw his weight behind ODM party leader in his the bid to oust president Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming August 8, general elections.

"I still refer to Raila Odinga as my party leader because i will still campaign for him as a presidential candidate," he said.

"He himself said that he recognizes that there are many independent candidates," he added.
