According to Ichungwa, Kanu leadership had realized  NASA was not going to make it the August 8th polls, hence their decision to cut links with the opposition.

"It is not a surprise that Kanu joined Jubilee and declined the calls to join NASA," he said.

"For me it is a realization from the Kanu leadership that if you are a serious political party and you want to be in government then you cannot join that thing called NASA," he added.

The MP also dismissed NASA saying that it had no agenda for the country terming it a conglomeration of selfish leaders who are just power hungry.

"NASA is just a coalition of selfish leaders with no agenda for this country. A National Super Alliance should be a powerful political outfit that can be able to move the country forward," he said.

"What we see is a No Agenda Selfish Super Alliance, it is basically a conglomeration of very selfish group of leaders who only want to attain political power and nothing else," he added.
