The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati led the agency’s delegation, to meet Jubilee Party National head of Secretariat, Raphael Tuju.

The two parties met at the Party’s headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi, for talks about the upcoming August general elections.

Tuju hailed IEBC for releasing results of the voter registration exercise, saying: “We are delighted that the IEBC has been announcing the results of the voter registration. For the first time in this country we know the exact number of registered voters per constituency per County.’’

Jubilee also addressed the issue of cleaning the voters register, saying ghost voters and double registered, must be removed, for credible polls.

On his part, Chebukati said the electoral agency maintained an open door policy and welcomed engagements from all stakeholders to hear concerns and address them.

"We have had a meeting with the Jubilee Party team and we are committed to delivering credible and fair elections.’’

He added: "We shall engage Jubilee Party on how to handle their party nominations to be held in March.’’

They also discussed the issue of impartiality.

“The Opposition has perpetuated the narrative that the elections can be rigged and that is false,’’ assured Chebukati.

Also present in the delegation was Chief Executive Ezra Chiloba and Chebukati’s vice chairperson, Consolata Nkatha Bucha Maina.
