[Photo/Courtesy]The Opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) has now given IEBC until Tuesday next week to publish the official audited voter register and meet six other new queries that they have raised.NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga while addressing residents of Trans Nzoia on Thursday noted that IEBC had delayed the publishing of the clean voter register for Kenyans to assess its credibility a move that could stand in the way of democracy and the will of people in the August 8, 2017 polls.Other than the publishing of the audited voter register, NASA notes that testing and certification required under the law has not been undertaken by the Commission. The alliance demands that live testing, functionality, stress, and remote testing in a real environment of all Kenya Integrated Elections Management System (KIEMS) be undertaken. The Opposition also wants IEBC to confirm if it has undertaken a systems audit as set out in the Elections Regulations.Mr Odinga’s team also wants to know what mechanisms the elections body has put in place to guarantee data availability, accuracy, integrity, and measures adopted to detect, prevent and protect against attacks and compromise of the election technology.NASA further demands to know whether all the 41,000 polling stations will be connected to a virtual private network as a guarantee for data authentication and integrity. The Opposition alliance also seeks clarification on measures taken to guarantee result accuracy, integrity and credibility of the polls’ Results Transmission System (RTS).Finally, NASA wants confirmation that a data recovery and operations continuity plan is in place and has been tested.
