The Jubilee Party has welcomed the Court of Appeal ruling, after it allowed the IEBC, to continue with the printing of presidential ballot papers, by the Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing LLC.

IEBC appealed a High Court ruling, filed by Opposition's NASA, and the Thirdway Alliance party, that IEBC should cancel the tender to the company, for it had close ties with the Jubilee government.

However, a five judge bench, on Thursday overturned the ruling, and allowed IEBC to continue with the printing, dealing a blow to the petitioners.

According to Jubilee Party secretary general Raphael Tuju, the ruling was done in favour of all Kenyans, considering that there was no sufficient time to start fresh tendering, since elections date was close.

“We welcome the court ruling on presidential ballot papers. We urge Nasa flag bearer to stop discrediting independent institutions ahead of the elections. Elections will be held on August 8, and the ruling has observed this,” Tuju told the press the party headquarters in Pangani, Nairobi.Thirdway Alliance presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot and his United Democratic Party (UDP) counterpart Cyrus Jirongo also agreed with the judgement. They said it had gave the way forward, and Kenyans were sure of having an election.
