Turbo Member of Parliament Elisha Busienei has dismissed reports that he has been arrested after he was found with fake ballot papers.

Speaking to press in Eldoret town, the MP accused his opponents of spreading rumours about his arrest in a bid to taint his image.

He accused them of resorting to propaganda after sensing defeat.

"All those claiming I have been arrested are the people who clearly know they have no chance of winning this seat hence opted to name tainting and propaganda," said the MP.

Busienei further threatened to sue a local television station after it aired that he had been arrested.

"I want to tell NTV to apologise for airing a false story about my arrest. Should they fail to do so will instruct my lawyer to take legal action," he said.

The MP however urged his supporters to remain calm even as the Jubilee party works on resolving the stalemate surrounding the nomination exercise.
