Kiambu Town MP Jude Njomo has criticized National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s move to call for demonstrations to oust Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba.Addressing journalists in Kiambu Town on Sunday, the Jubilee MP said Raila’s call for demonstrations at Anniversary Towers starting Tuesday is a recipe for chaos.According to the MP, NASA leaders want to use the protests to delay the October 26 repeat presidential election.Njomo further claimed that the NASA demos are a scheme to cause fear and intimidate IEBC ahead of the repeat poll.He said the opposition is afraid of the repeat poll and is using every scheme to have the election postponed with the intension of forming a ‘nusu mkate’ government with Jubilee.“NASA leaders must allow the IEBC to prepare for fresh election and stop these sideshows which they are using to avoid the repeat poll,” said Njomo, as quoted by People Daily. The Jubilee MP blamed the opposition coalition for the state of confusion being witnessed in the country. The lawmaker appealed to religious leaders to intervene and help cool down political temperatures. On Sunday, Raila said NASA will hold peaceful demonstrations until Chiloba and other IEBC officials who allegedly bungled the August 8 presidential election exit office. He has maintained he will not participate in the October 26 repeat poll until those responsible for the bungled poll are out of office.
