Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has called upon residents of Kitui County to back the re-election of the incumbent Dr. Julius Malombe ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

Kalonzo, also former vice president, said that he would like to be a deputy president with a strong team behind him, adding that Malombe deserves another term in office to complete the projects he had started four years ago.

He also said that there is no problem competing against Former Lands Minister Charity Kaluki Ngilu in the upcoming general elections.

“I am happy we are all speaking in one voice as a community, but Wiper needs numbers in national and county assemblies and therefore Mrs Ngilu being in a party that is in competition with us must appreciate that,” said Mr Musyoka on Monday, as quoted by Nation.

The lawmaker asked residents to vote for Wiper Party, which was seen a rooting for six piece voting.

“Nasa is going to win this election but I don’t want to be a deputy president without governors and foot soldiers in both county and national assemblies to implement our agenda,” he added.

On her part, Ngilu said that Musyoka is wasting his time campaigning for Malombe as we draw to the August polls.
