Keiyo North MP James Murgor has called for political tolerance in the county as rivalry pitting Elgeyo Marakwet governor Alex Tolgos and aspirant Moses Changwony threaten the region’s unity.

Changwony who comes from the Keiyo community is vying on an independent ticket while Tolgos, a Marakwet flys the Jubilee Party flag.

During the president’s rallies in the county, Tolgos was heckled in the Keiyo side however receiving support at home.

Speaking on Wednesday in Eldoret, Murgor said it was not the time the two communities should get divided.

“This is not the time Keiyos and Marakwets get divided. We are one county we should remain united,” Murgor said.

“I want to call all the people of Elgeyomarakwet County to observe tolerance and plan for our county,”He said.

Murgor won the JP nominations for Keiyo North trouncing former legislator Lucas Chepkitony who has since been picked by Changwony has his running mate.
