Nairobi gubernatorial seat aspirant Peter Kenneth has warned Nairobians not to nominate senator Mike Sonko to fly the Jubilee flag, saying that Sonko would be a disaster to ruin the city.

In an interview on national TV, Kenneth said that the battle for Nairobi's top seat should not be made a popularity showdown but must instead be an opportunity for Nairobians to weigh in on who stands the best chance to suitably serve their needs.

"Sonko will be a disaster for Nairobians and I am praying for a free, fair and credible nominations exercise tomorrow since the party has improved on logistical issues that had affected primaries," said Kenneth.

He said that Sonko would leave Nairobians in deplorable conditions, pointing out the case at Gikomba Market where he said traders have been left under deplorable conditions while conducting their businesses at areas surrounded by sewage.

He also said Sonko would escalate the already rampant traffic congestion in the city and accused the Mike Sonko-Evans Kidero tenure of letting the problem to prevail.

Kenneth is today facing off with Sonko in the Jubilee party primaries in what will determine who faces incumbent Evans Kidero of OMD in the coming general elections.
