After winning the Kenya Pipeline Cycling completion over the weekend in Eldoret, Geoffrey Langat is confident of qualifying for the Commonwealth Games.

Lagat emerged victorious in Eldoret on Sunday in a race that was used as a qualifying round for the Australia’s Commonwealth Games where Kenya will be fielding a team.

“My focus now is to make a cut for the Commonwealth Games that will be held in Australia next year April,” Langat said after winning the race.

“I am happy that I won and such races help me in training," he added.

He said he would be racing in Europe in two weeks time as part of his build up for the global event.

“Me and my colleagues at the camp will be in Europe in two weeks time racing in some competitions there.By competing abroad it will enable me gain some experience that will be useful during the commonwealth Games,” Langat said.

The rider is training at the Iten-based Kenya Riders Association camp under the tutelage of Ciaran Fitzpatrick.
