The senator has insisted that Zani was addressing the disquiet among the ODM supporters.

According to Khalwale, leaders like Fransis Nyenze of Wiper, Hassan Joho of ODM and Chis Wamalwa of Ford Kenya had before made such utterances and were defended by their party leaders.

"When Joho assembled thousands of supporters in Mombasa and said it must be Raila, when Nyenze said the same about Kalonzo, when Chris Wamalwa said the same about Wetangula and when ANC supporters said the same about Mudavadi nobody called for an apology," he said.

"Whatever Agnes Zani was saying was meant to address the disquiet among the ODM supporters," he added.

The vocal senator also pointed that despite the perceived cracks in NASA opposition will remain a united front in the quest to unseat the incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8th polls.
