Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has slammed the Opposition over the ongoing political stalemate.

Speaking on Friday during Mashujaa Day celebrations held at Afraha Stadium, Kinyanjui called on the Opposition to re-think about the nation before engaging in demonstrations.

“I want to call on the Opposition and more so former Prime Minister (Raila Odinga) that if this country goes the wrong way Kenyans will hold you accountable,” said Kinyanjui.

The county boss was categorical that if the opposition leaders are true to themselves then those who were elected as MCAs, Governors, Senators and MPs should resign since it is the same IEBC they are castigating  that conducted their elections.

“The Opposition leaders who are pushing for reforms in IEBC are the same who are holding political offices after the same IEBC conducted their election. They should therefore resign since they cannot fault a body that enabled them in get into office,” he said.

Nakuru County Commissioner Joshua Nkanatha assured students sitting for national exams of their security.

“We will ensure that the examinations proceed as scheduled without any interference from anyone,” he said.

Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria asked his Nakuru Town West MP to drop a case he filed against the governor over CECs.

“We are going to talk to my brother Arama so that he can withdraw the case," Gikaria said.
