The Kenya Premier League has reached a deal with Standard Group's KTN to air live the Mashemeji Super Cup tournament slated for Sunday at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.

Speaking on Thursday, KPL Operations Officer Frank Okoth revealed that KTN will transmit a feed from Mediapro who have since come on board as broadcast partners in KPL matches.

He thanked the media house for coming through even as KPL grapples with a financial crisis that has threatened smooth operation of the organization.

"We have not received any money from the station, but have agreed on an acceptable revenue share and we want to thank them for coming through," he noted.

Okoth further revealed that there will be no cash prize for the team that emerges victorious in the season opener that will see Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards lock horns.

He alluded to lack of funds, after KPL's main sponsor Sportpesa stopped funding for all sporting activities in the country over taxes.

On his part, KPL Vice-chairman in charge of sponsorships Elly Kalekwa observed that they are working hard to find a league sponsor.

“We have knocked on many doors and received a lot of offers that we are now looking at. We remain confident that we will tie down something soon. This is a good product that we should not have a problem finding a partner to work with," he uncovered.
