The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has extended its working hours at all iTax Support Centres and Huduma Centres countrywide, ahead of the deadline for filing returns this month.

Huduma Centres will now open Mondays to Fridays 7.30 a.m to 6.00 p.m and Saturdays 8.00 a.m to 1.00 p.m. iTax Support Centres will open Mondays to Fridays 7.00 a.m to 9.00 p.m and Saturdays 8.00 a.m to 1.00 p.m.

The KRA Contact Centre, will be open Mondays to Fridays 6.00 a.m to 12 midnight and throughout the weekends from 9.00 a.m to 4.00 p.m.

The extension applies to all iTax related services in the 44 Huduma Centres and 24 iTax Support Centres countrywide. Taxpayers are encouraged to visit the Centres to avoid the KSh. 20, 000 penalty that accrues when a taxpayer does not file their return.

KRA also encourages those who have not filed their returns to do so through iTax system, which gives them the luxury of filing returns from the comfort of their homes or offices at any hour of the day or night.

To support taxpayers in meeting their deadline of June 30th, 2017, KRA has intensified outreach through its mobile tax clinics launched in Nairobi on 3rd April, 2017. So far, taxpayers in Western Region and North Rift which covers Eldoret have experienced the tax clinics.

The tax clinics enable KRA to take its services closer to the people. KRA offers various services including the filing of return at the tax clinics.

KRA has collaborated with employers to issue out P9 forms to facilitate taxpayers in filing their returns. This has been done through taxpayer visitations, letters and through the KRA digital campaign Mkenya Mtrue.
