After what is believed to be the recent hard stance taken by the Tanzanian government over education standards in the country, Kenya's Kenyatta University is selling its assets at their Arusha campus in a bid to close the branch.

Through a tender notice titled "disposal of furniture and other items at Arusha campus", the campus has already called for willing buyers to purchase their lecture room material.

According to the Standard, the other items on sale are not clear although reports indicate that there is no tender fee attached to the sale.

This is an indicator of closure of the foreign campus just days after Tanzania's Commission for University (TCU) advised the institution not to admit new students at the Arusha branch.

TCU also warned Kenya's Jkuat not to admit fresh students at their other campus in Arusha.
