Lusaka pointed to cases of impeachment in the previous house noting that this had painted some senators in a bad image with a group of them keen to paint governors negatively.

This emerged when members of the 12th senate met in Naivasha for a one-week induction training in Simba Lodge in Naivasha.

Speaking at the sidelines of the workshop, Lusaka said that some senators in the last senate had ended up setting governors in bad light.

“Some senators who were keen to seek gubernatorial seats were full of malice and this house should not be used in the same way and should instead address the process of impeachment,” he said.

The former Bungoma Governor proposed that the process of impeaching governors should be the last recourse as it had been misused by some politicians.

Lusaka who came in the limelight for the procurement of the ‘non-carcinogenic wheelbarrows’ termed the issue as one which was highlighted badly and for the wrong reasons.

He noted that efforts by governors to stop misuse of funds and unplanned trips by MCAs were some of the reasons been used to impeach governors.
