The National Police Service has received a major boost in its efforts to manage mass protests in Nairobi.

This is after the Protective and Safety Association of Kenya (PROSAK) said it will team up with the police to help fight rowdy protesters.

PROSAK is an organisation made up of private security firms operating in Kenya.

"Each member company will allocate a number of security personnel to be assigned to different areas in the city to ensure that both premises and businesspeople are safe," announced Enock Makanga, the association's national chairman.

The announcement comes days after NASA leadership vowed that there will be no fresh presidential election on October 26 as they rallied their supporters to clarion call 'No election in October '.

"IEBC has been taken hostage by Jubilee. Four commissioners are taking instructions from State House. We cannot go to an election with such people in office," said NASA leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday during a rally at Kamukunji Grounds, calling for countrywide demonstrations on the Election Day against the IEBC.
