Former two-time president, Mwai Kibaki, is fit and in good health. Othaya MP Mary Wambui, Mary Wambui has said.

This follows reports on social media that Kibaki, a humourous former president, was hospitalised.

The reports came following the death of former TJRC chairman, Ambassador Bethuel Kiplagat, last week.

According, to Wambui, who was campaigning in Mukurweini Constituency, Nyeri county, Thursday, she had met Kibaki, and was very fit.

She even told Mukurweini residents during a Jubilee campaign rally, that Kibaki who served as president between 2002 and 2013, had sent greetings to them.

The MP dispelled claims that Kibaki was sick, saying that was fake news.

Kibaki was born in Othaya, and has been missing in public functions, due to his health.
