The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Fred Matiang’i, wants at least 60 heads of secondary institutions to visit MPESA Foundation Academy to feel the unique teaching and learning environment at the school.

He asked the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) and the Ministry’s Quality Assurance and Standards to ensure that at least 60 Principals from all the 47 Counties visit the institution.

He made the remarks after making extensive tour of the institution in Kiambu County yesterday.

He said the school provided holistic educational environment that identified the multiple abilities and talents children had.

“This is not an ordinary school,” Dr. Matiang’i noted, saying “there is no school like this in the whole country.

He said learning process should produce thinkers, does and leaders.

He said the students at the school expressed themselves intelligently and confidently, noting that the school provided them with a chance to realise their full potential.

The Academy offers a platform for economically disadvantaged students to join the school on a full scholarship.

Dr. Matiang’i was accompanied by his counterpart in ICT, Mr. Joe Mucheru. 

Present included the Chief Executive officer of Safaricom, Mr. Bob Collymore, and the Director, Quality Assurance and Standards, Mr. Pius Mutisya, and deputy Director at KICD, Mrs. Jacqueline Onyango.
