The Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i has condemned the clash between NASA supporters and police during the homecoming of Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Friday.

The chaotic homecoming left over 10 people dead with business looted and several other people injured. 

Matiangi who spoke at Nyabururu Girls National School in Kisii County, on Saturday said the violence during the arrival of Raila should not recur. He described the events as unwarranted."The ugly scenes we saw yesterday are very concerning to us," said Matiang'i. "No differences of opinion are good enough for us to have acrimony and spoil our country," he added.The CS called on political leaders and Kenyans at large to preach peace and pray for the country. “Let’s preach peace and also pray in order to maintain the stability of this country since God has blessed us with this beautiful county,” said the CS.
