Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairman John Mbadi has said he is not surprised that Kanu opted not to support the NASA alliance in favor of the Jubilee party.

According to Mbadi, Kanu backing President Uhuru Kenyatta's bid had been foreseen by the opposition following a series of meetings between the Kenyatta family and the Moi family.

"We were not surprised, if you had followed developments in the past few weeks you could see clearly where Kanu was gravitating to starting with the famous visit of the former first lady(Mama Ngina) to the former President(Moi)," he said.

"We knew something was coming, and that Kanu would eventually support the reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta," the Suna MP added.

Mbadi also noted that despite associating with Kanu their point of discontent with Jubilee was different with Kanu feeling mistreated by the DP William Ruto while the opposition was concerned about the leadership in the Jubilee government.

"It was wasn't really a big surprise to us even though Kanu had initially shown interest to work with us(NASA). Kanu was just unhappy with how they were being treated by the deputy president by undermining their party leader William Ruto. As for us we were unhappy about the misrule by the Jubilee government," he said.

Mbadi made these remarks during an interview with Citizen TV on Thursday.
