In an earlier statement by the council of governors and health officials from the ministry, stated that doctors would only get paid from the day they reported to work after a 100 days strike that almost brought down the health docket in the country.

KMPDU officials now want to know why some doctors have been struck off the payroll without any reason from the county government, arguing that it was against the return to work formula they had signed between the government and the union officials.

The council of governors had instructed the counties not to pay doctors who had taken part in the three months strike.

According to governors, the directive was issued by the then Principal Secretary Nicholas Muraguri, who since has been moved to lands ministry asking them not to release salaries for the period they were on strike.

Doctors are now demanding to be paid all the salaries and allowances arguing that it was part of the deal.
