Political analyst Harman Manyora now claims that KANU chairman Gideon Moi is hoping for Uhuru Kenyatta to lose the August polls so he can have a shot at the presidency in 2022.

According to Manyora, Moi will do everything possible to make sure he fights the DP's presidential ambitions in order to weaken his chances of ascending to power in 2022.

"Gideon Moi would want to have some space in 2022 and if he does not break the legs of Ruto now it will be very difficult and that is why I think it would be at the interest of Moi for Uhuru and Ruto to lose," he said during an interview with Citizen TV on Sunday.

Manyora also insisted that, should Uhuru win a second term, people will start gravitating toward Ruto as the next leader hence that will make him a force to reckon within in 2022.

"If President Uhuru wins the August 8th polls with Ruto as his deputy, from 2019 to 2020 people will start identifying with Ruto than even President Uhuru Kenyatta," he said.

"They will start shifting to where power is shifting to and that means it will be hard to dislodge Ruto from power," he added.
