The athletes who continue putting Kenya on global map were rewarded in an event organised by Dstv, Friday, in Iten.

They include athletes who won Tokyo, Boston and London marathons.

Former world marathon record holder Wilson Kipsang and Sarah Chepchirchir won Tokyo marathon in February while Edna Kiplagat and Geoffrey Kirui secured wins in Boston as Mary Keitany set an all-women world record in London with Daniel Wanjiru winning the men’s title.

Philip Wahome from Multi-choice said the company is committed in recognising talents hence a move to reward the athletes.

“We are proud of our athletes and whenever they perform well, we are there to celebrate with them. This is an encouragement for the upcoming athletes,” Wahome said.
