Ukambani musical superstar Ken Wa Maria has been disowned by the county boss. Responding to a question during the Machakos gubernatorial debate, Mutua was shocked at the suggestion that the music icon was his friend. Mutual said that they only related on commercial grounds. The musician has decided to venture into politics after a stellar entertainment career.

“I never knew Ken Wa Maria was my friend. We hired him to do a job,” said Mutua.

Meanwhile, Governor Mutua criticized Ukambani leaders for losing the focus to serve the needy. He singled out his deputy and alleged that he accepted to be used by his (Mutua’s) enemies to cripple operations in Machakos. Mutual also said that he respects Akamba’s political marksman Kalonzo Musyoka and has nothing personal against him.

“Ukambani leaders have lost focus. For instance, Bernard Kiala accepted himself to be used by my enemies. I have never insulted Kalonzo or attacked him in public,” he said.

The County boss went on to defend himself against the many fallouts that have been witnessed in his administration. He stated that there were persons funding MCAs to fight his agenda.

“My MCAs were called to hotels in Nairobi to oppose my development,” he added.
