Mvita MP-elect Abdulswamad Nassir has set his eyes on the county’s top seat come 2022.

Nassir, while thanking Mvita residents for giving him another opportunity to serve them, noted that if all goes well; he intends to run for Mombasa governorship in 2022.“You have allowed me to serve you for five years and so it wise to re-elect me. We’ve embarked on this journey together and my deeds have informed your decisions. We pray that God grants us life so that I serve you in a much bigger capacity in 2022,” said Nassir as quoted by The Star.The lawmaker made the remarks during his congratulatory speech at the Mvita tallying centre on Thursday night.Nassir will be seeking to take over from Governor Hassan Joho who had said he will run for the country’s presidency in the 2022 general election.Joho has won a second term after beating his rivals; Suleiman Shahbal of Jubilee Party, Hassan Omar (Wiper) and Hezron Awiti of Vibrant Democratic Party.
