This comes after a road accident last week at Kimende shopping Centre where five people died on the spot.

Speaking at the burial of one of the deceased, area chief James Muturi said the county government is aware of the issue and the issue is being addressed to bring a permanent solution to the accident hot spots.

In his condolence message which was read by a representative, Kiambu County Senator Kimani Wamatangi said the county government in conjunction with the State have already contracted for the repair and maintenance of that road.

"We are renovating the road from Kinoo to Muguga. The road is in poor condition,” said Wamatangi in a statement.

The senator said it is a shame that the road has been forgotten despite being among major entrance to the capital city. He further urged drivers to be sober while driving and to strictly adhere to the set laws.

Residents have proposed to have flyovers and bumps at Kimende and Nyambari.

Nakuru- Nairobi Highway is among the deadliets roads which have claimed many lives in the country.
