Residents of Dundori in Bahati Constituency came into contact with the glaring face of inhumanity and moral decay after the body of a class one child was retrieved from a pit latrine on Friday.
The six-year-old girl was raped, killed and her body dumped in a neighbor’s pit latrine by a man only identified as Dan.The irate Dundori residents stormed the suspect's house and found the child’s clothes soaked in blood under the bed. The suspect later took them where the slain girl's body lay. Dundori police officers arrived on time before the mob lynched the man.Ann Wirimu Mwangi, the child’s mother, said her daughter went missing on Thursday evening. Reports indicated that the girl was last seen with the suspect who is alleged to have told other children that he and the deceased were heading to a neighbor’s farm to pick some fruits.Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngujiri condemned the incident.The MP urged police to build a strong case against the culprit who committed such a heinous act few months after being released from jail.
