Nandi County senator aspirant and Jubilee nominee Samson Kiprotich Cherargei has promised to champion for the proper utilisation of resources and youth empowerment.

The youthful candidate beat other 14 aspirants in the Jubilee Party primaries to clinch the ticket.

Speaking in Eldoret, Cherargei said his vision was to champion for transparency and empowerment of youth to better their livelihoods.

“I am very grateful for the people of Nandi for nominating me. I have good plans for the county in the senate,” hhe said.

“First I will champion for proper utilization of funds to make sure the money are allocated to viable developments meant to uplift livelihoods,” he said.

He said he would initiate for different programmes that would empower them to be self-reliant through income generating activities.

“Apart from the employment opportunities we will be fighting for youth, I will also come up with ways of empowering them,” he added.

Cherargei came into the limelight while crusading for transparency and accountability in Nandi County.

He led many demonstrations against governor Cleophas Lagat who  he accused of mismanaging public funds.
