As the country approaches its August 8 presidential elections, NASA are striving to reach a consensus over a single candidate who will battle it out with Uhuru Kenyatta and other presidential candidates.

However, it looks like they have a very long and difficult road ahead in achieving this objective as various political parties have been unveiling their preferred candidates while others running as independent candidates.

According to the latest opinion polls, Raila Odinga is the preferred candidate to carry the NASA presidential flag despite losing previous elections but he’s still ahead of other NASA co-principals Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula.

A team of 12 which was drawn from all parties within NASA have been working on structures and selection of a joint presidential candidate.

NASA has of late been marred by internal and external wrangles with each candidate proposing themselves as flag bearer to battle it out in the August poll.

The principals have so far denied claims of the rift within after with Kalonzo declared that he is in NASA to stay.
