Governor Charity Ngilu has threatened to sack county employees who fail to perform their duties satisfactorily.

According to the Governor, her administration will not entertain employees who are not committed to the call of duty.

Speaking in Kitui East on Thursday, Ngilu said that said that employees who fail to perform their duties satisfactorily will be sacked.

She said that she has started receiving complaints that some staff are lazy around instead of serving the locals.

“I am not going to entertain people who are not committed to service delivery and who only want to derail development,” she said as quoted by Kituionline.com.

The NARC party governor said that her agenda is to deliver 100 percent to the people.

Ngilu observed that locals have suffered for year’s adding that it’s time for them to enjoy services under devolution.

Governor Ngilu is among a few governors who have not sacked or suspended employees who served in the previous administration.

Ngilu, however, says that a staff audit is ongoing to ensure that the county retains the necessary and needed staff in efforts to cut on the ballooning wage bill.

Meanwhile, the Governor has rubbished claims that the eight nominated County Executives Committee members have started performing their duties before being vetted.

The Kitui County boss state that none of the nominees has started work saying that those spreading the malicious claims wants to taint her name.

The governor said that the nominees must be vetted first before being formally appointed to office.

Last week a section of MCAs alleged that the nominated CeCs had reported for duty before being vetted.
