The Kisii County senatorial seat has has attracted top names among them Sam Ongeri and Omingo Magara, both who have served as MPs in the region.

And Nyachae, who is also in Jubilee Party presidential campaign team said he was sure of a 'landslide' victory in August.

"I am still in senatorial race and my opponents should desist from engaging in smearing campaigns. I have worked so hard and I know I am getting there," he said.

"My opponents are panicking and I am sure that I will deliver the seat for Jubilee. The party is growing steadily and I see our people voting President Uhuru Kenyatta," he added.

Nyachae is a son to former powerful minister Simon Nyachae, who bowed out of politics in 2007 when he lost his Nyaribari Chache parliamentary seat.
