He has also challenged the UN Habitat ambassador to quit politics due to his advanced age.

“Instead he should be sent home by the people so that they give room for younger people to lead. He is a non issue in our politics,” Nyamweya said.

Ongeri, who is eyeing Kisii senatorial seat, has since backed re-election of James Ongwae as governor in August.

“Governor Ongwae has portrayed to be a good leader his development record is indisputable. I will back him fully,” he said.

But on Thursday, Nyamweya said that his gubernatorial bid is intact and would beat all his competitors.

“He has failed in ensuring that the governor is grilled in the senate and he has now embarked in criticizing him around,” Nyamweya also hit at senator Chris Obure.

He challenged the two to give a clear statement on how they have managed the money that the National Government has sent to the county since 2013.
