Opposition leader Raila Odinga has arrived in Mathare suburbs on Nairobi following killing of perceived NASA supporters, two days after his arrival in the country.

On Saturday night, at least five people were killed by suspected Mungiki members if at all accounts by eye witnesses are anything to go by.

“They wore dreadlocks and were in police attire. They only targeted a certain community,” recalled Elvis Omollo, a Mathare resident.

As Odinga made entry, his supporters could be heard saying ‘we don’t fear bullets; we shall now arm ourselves’ as the political crisis in the country deepens.

Earlier, Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang questioned the intention of the police to hurriedly take the bodies of victims without following procedures.

“They came and just took the bodies yet there are procedures we usually follow. This is ethnic cleansing and we cannot allot it anymore,” he said.

Police through Japheth Koome have denied involvement of Mungiki adding that the executioners were ordinary criminals.
