Raila Odinga says the unfortunate incident in which a bridge in Budalang’i constituency collapsed signified the end of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s reign.
Barely a fortnight ago, had Kenyatta led a government delegation during the inspection of the estimated Sh1.2 billion Sigiri Bridge.
And on Monday, Odinga accused Jubilee of fronting shoddy contractors whom they use to defraud public resources through kickbacks.
“The bridge was poorly built and that is evident. They used it as an avenue to swindle public funds but now they have damaged a well-intended project.
“This is a sign that Jubilee has collapsed and Uhuru needs to appreciate such factors. They are total working in disregard with the concerns of people,” he said.
It is rumoured that Kenyatta was set to mention the project during the launch of Jubilee manifesto on Monday.
Although the cause of the incident is yet to be established, a section of politicians have started throwing burbs on each other on the basis of political affiliations.
