ODM aspirants in Kisii County have expressed confidence that the party's nomination will be free and fair.

Through their spokesperson Anthony Kibagendi,  the aspirants maintained that the ODM top leadership had assured them of transparency during the nomination.

"We have conflicts at county level but that will not be a barrier to fair nomination. We are so much prepared and will battle it to the end for the better of the party, "said Kibagendi who is eyeing the Kitutu Chache South parliamentary seat.

His words were echoed by South Mugirango aspirant Sylvanous Osoro who blamed Kisii County Governor James Ongwae for allegedly having a list of preferred candidates.

He asked Governor Ongwae and nominated Senator Janet Ong'era to keep off the nomination process.

" ODM leader Raila Odinga has always spearheaded the call for democracy in Kenya,  the Party officials should also copy from him, " he said.

Already,  closeness between Governor Ongwae and Ms Ong'era has pushed Kisii Women Representative Mary Otara to rethink of decamping to Jubilee.

"From how things are unfolding am still consulting before I announce my next move,"said Ms Otara who has been skipping ODM functions in the county for two months now.
