Senior members of the Jubilee Party from Nyanza have laughed off former TNA Secretary General Onyango Oloo's departure from the party.
The members who addressed a press conference in Kisumu said the opposition Cord should not expect Mr Oloo to convince JP members from the region to join ODM or NASA.
Zuberi Liete, who is Jubilee Party Deputy Chairman, Kisumu, said Oloo was a political failure who will add no value to the opposition.
"When he says he has left the party with his people here in Kisumu, he means his family members," Mr Liete said a day after Oloo addressed the media to announce his official departure from TNA.
"From his sisters, in-laws and those who follow people because of their pockets. We are the true members of Jubilee here in Kisumu."
TNA Nominated Senator Joy Gwendo said Jubilee Party was still strong in Nyanza adding that members will work tirelessly to make it even stronger.
"The former TNA secretary general claimed that he had moved away with Jubilee in this area," Gwendo said.
But today, we sit here and categorically state that these people seated behind me and in front here are members of the Jubilee Party."
Oloo left the ruling party early in the week citing frustration from a section of party members.
He said some JP members never gave him the opportunity to run the party independently as secretary general.
