With the rise in the number of independent candidates in Rift Valley, it has brought fear to those incumbent who see them as a threat.

One such incident is the one involving Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago who faces stiff competition from the first rising independent candidate Bundotich Buzeki who claims lost unfairly during the jubilee nomination.

The current governor who saw this as a sabotage from the different communities especially Kikuyu. He decided to either go to opposite camp or let the Deputy President William Ruto intervene by telling Bundotich to step down.

This is a clear indication of intimidation. How can one decide the fate of others while he has his own freedom of making his decision?

Bundotich alias Buzeki made it clear that the mandate lie with the people not the DP.

The governor was showing his concern showing his failures to the people. The support he was enjoying was all from his tribe which he has now shown that even a cosmopolitan society still pupports tribalism as a way of getting political accord.

Choosing the rulers should be left to the people who believe in the beauty of one's Manifesto not chest-thumping tribalists.

Democracy should reign supreme if we have to develop our country. There is no place of intimidation while the choice is with the people.
