Families who have children living with disability in Voi will be accessing Orthopedic Services for free following partnership between the County government office of the first Lady and a team of doctors from Kijabe known as Cure Kijabe.

According to CECM Health Taita Taveta Dr. Frank Mwangemi the partnership with Cure Kijambe doctors has made it easy to offer services to Orthopedic patients.

Dr Mwangemi said, “there is need to improve health services in the County by putting up modern health facility equipped with Trauma center, ICU and modern wards.” 

Speaking in Voi on Thursday, Dr. Felix Kimotho who is Medical superintendent at Moi referral Hospital confirmed that, “the County has received modern equipment especially for those living with physical disabilities.” 

Dr Felix urged the parents and community to seeking medical services as well as taking their children to special schools to get education. 

The 1st lady Taita Taveta H.E Stella Samboja congratulated Kijabe Cure hospital for their support of doctors and experience to ensure the children have better lives like others. 

“I will continue to support the health sector in Taita Taveta through Health department and partners in ensuring families facing financial challenges have accessed to better health care,” affirmed the First Lady. 

The parents of the children who benefited from the free Orthopedic health services expressed their happiness and joy saying they wouldn’t afford taking their children to hospital due to high levels of poverty.

The free Orthopedic clinic will be held regularly in the County by doctors from Cure Kijabe.
