[Photo|Busia County Government]Peace message dominated this year's Mashujaa Day celebrations in Busia County on Friday, with youth, church, political leadership and the administration calling for sobriety ahead of the October 26th presidential elections.Busia Deputy Governor, Moses Mulomi who represented Governor Sospeter Ojaamong, said the mood of the country was still in politics."To cool the rising temperatures in the country, leaders need to sit together and dialogue. The economy is being affected by the unfolding political climate in the country. Elections will come and go but Kenyans will remain," he said, at the Busia County Stadium.Muslim leader Sheikh Mohamed Oyuolo, said it was regrettable leaders were putting the country in a precarious position."Leaders have put the country in a quagmire. We will not know the importance of peace in the country until peace becomes elusive. We should embrace peace which should be an obligation. Look for peace which can bring development," he said.County Commissioner Michael Ole Tialal said peace in the repeat presidential elections next Thursday was paramount, adding that peace can bring development, unity and good life.National Youth Council County chairman Benjamin Sireka said the country was at cross roads over the controversial polls.
