A day after a political rally turned chaotic, the Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko has now ordered the DCI to investigate the incident that left Joho’s body guard nursing bullet wounds while scores of other people seriously injured.

"You have been directed to immediately and urgently commence investigations into the incident and submit the resultant file for perusal and directions," Tobiko said.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's bodyguard was shot and injured during the ODM rally at Posta Grounds that led to the disruption of the rally when Migori Governor Okoth Obado unexpectedly showed up.

Meanwhile, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) national elections board has condemned the incidence. 

Speaking at Bomas of Kenya, the board's chairperson Judy Pareno said they have started investigation in to the same and those found guilty will face disciplinary action. "We have had violence in Migori and as a party, we cannot afford to be chaotic. If one is found to have committed such an offense, it will lead to disqualification," said Pareno.

Joho, who was to address the rally that ended prematurely, as the deputy party leader was set to open a new ODM office in Migori County.
