Jane Tialal, the institution's head said no injuries were reported.

“No one was inside the dormitory when the fire broke out, which makes us suspect that an electric fault had occasioned the fire,’ Ms Tialal said.

“There should, however, be no cause for alarm because all students were in their classrooms at the time the fire broke out,” she noted.

She decried that a lot of property belonging to students was destroyed.

"A lot of students’ belonging, including mattresses, boxes and stationery were burnt to ashes”, said Tialal.

She called upon well wishers and government to intervene and help students who lost their items.

“We need help from the government and well-wishers because students lost property of unknown value but are forced to remain in school because the exams are around the corner,” she said.

The cause of the fire is yet to be known.
