A Mombasa man has chased his wife and children out of their home in Kwa Karama area, Nyali Constituency, after NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga lost to Uhuru Kenyatta in the just concluded election.

The man, a strong supporter of Raila, is also reported to have destroyed property of unknown value on Friday August 11, 2017 after IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati declared Uhuru as President-elect. He is said to have smashed his television set and other electronic gadgets in rage.The man’s wife, Hawa Gurah, said her husband believes the election was rigged in Uhuru’s favour.“My husband claims that Raila Odinga won the last three presidential races but his victory was snatched in all the three attempts. He thinks Nyali residents and I did not vote for Odinga,” she said, as quoted by E-Daily. Gurah said her husband has since been exhibiting some violent behavior and even walks around with a spear.“I think he has lost his mind. He walks around with a spear and is constantly insulting people….He attempts to push walls, he breaks the window panes, he smashes the television set, he disconnects the electricity,” she added.According to a neighbor who spoke to the daily, Gurah’s husband said he will go back to normal once Raila is declared president.Gurah has now appealed to authorities to admit her husband at the Port Reitz mental hospital.
