ODM party leader Raila Odinga is expected to return to Western before February 15 to push for residents in the region to list as voters in large numbers.

Western is a vote-rich region and the opposition chief is leaving nothing to chance as he seeks to bolster support for the opposition ahead of the August 8 elections.

He was in the region on Wednesday (January 18), two days after the IEBC launched the mass voter registration exercise in preparation for the forthcoming polls.

During the visit, he urged residents in the region to register as voters since this is the only way through which the opposition can triumph against Jubilee.

Western region largely voted for the Cord co-principal during the 2013 general election and with the support of ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, he envisions at garnering more votes this time round.

Raila is seeking to contest for the presidency- the fourth time.

He has several times reiterated he will win during the August polls.

In 2007 and 2013, he accused his opponents- Mwai Kibaki and Uhuru Kenyatta respectively of rigging him out.
