Raila, who gave a fourth stab at the presidency, said that time has come for African nations to unite in the fight to restore the lost glory of Kenya.

'If Kenya, one of Africa’s most vibrant democracies except at election time, can be so easily intimidated to surrender, then what hope is there for the rest of Africa?' Raila said.

He added: "It is in this regard that we call upon all African democrats to publicly show solidarity with Kenyans."

Raila also said that the opposition will move to court to oppose the presidential results which he termed as cooked.

The former prime minister affirmed that he will not allow the Jubilee government to turn the nation into a banana republic.

Raila also maintained that the outcome of the last general election does not reflect the will of the people of Kenya. He said that he will fight tooth and nail to ensure that Kenyans get justice. Earlier on, Raila had said that he will not move to court over the election results.

Leaders backing the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have been asking Raila to accept the outcome of the August general elections and move on. Raila has, however insisted that he will not bow to pressure.“We will not accept and move on” he said.
