[Photo: Raila Odinga]The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has teamed up with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and Criminal Investigations Department (CID), to review and investigate Raila Odinga. This is in relation to utterances that the National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate made during his campaign in Kajiado County, Thursday.Nasa rivals, Jubilee, led by President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on prosecution of Raila, saying he incited the people of Kajiado, and that he was treading on a line similar to what led to the Post Election Violence in 2007/2008.It is alleged Raila incited the Maasai in Kajiado not to sale land to 'newcomers', claims that the Opposition leader has disputed.Raila has defended himself saying he asked them not to sale land cheaply, to wealthy people who want to exploit their resources, and leave them poor.Jubilee team on Friday termed the remarks as incitement likely to trigger ethnic tension ahead of the General Elections. The three organs are un-coding Raila's remarks in the video, to see if it amounts to hate speech, or incitement, with sufficient evidence to back his possible criminal prosecution.
